FAQs
How does therapy begin?
Treatment starts with a phone consultation. We will discuss your needs and determine whether we are a good fit.
Do you provide in-person or remote sessions?
I offer both in-person and remote sessions. In-person sessions take place at Union Square Psychotherapy, which is centrally located in Union Square near most major subway lines. Remote sessions are held via phone or Doxy.
How often do we meet, and for how long?
Sessions are generally 45 minutes long. I work with people on a weekly basis, as well as multiple times per week. During our first few sessions, I will make a recommendation as to the frequency based on your needs. I tend to work with people on an open-ended, long-term basis.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an “out-of-network” provider for all insurance companies. While I do not accept insurance directly, I can provide you with itemized receipts (or “superbills”) for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out-of-network coverage. Many patients obtain partial or, in some cases, complete reimbursement of the cost of their therapy. I am happy to work with you to understand your benefits.
What is your fee?
During the initial consultation, we will discuss your income and decide on a mutually agreeable fee. I offer a sliding scale on a case by case basis.
